About Scott
As a therapist with experience as a writer, school counselor, editor, teacher and service professional, I've been honored to hear and celebrate many life stories. And I know that even though we are strong at our core, there are times we need someone to walk along with us until we find our footing.
I've worked with children, adolescents, adults and parents in multiple settings. As a Victories for Men retreat staff member, I've had the opportunity to support men in many struggles, including depression, anxiety, anger, parenting, infidelity and other relationship problems.
My literary background gives me an important perspective on issues faced by writers and other artists. And, as a humble and proud parent, I lead workshops for other parents and teachers on the Positive Discipline approach.
My therapy approach is client-centered, which means I believe that you are the expert on you life. A strong, safe, collaborative relationship can allow you to more accurately call on this expertise to help yourself feel better.
Our work together will likely look closely at the stories you tell yourself about you. (Narrative therapy) Because I believe that how we relate to others and how others relate to us has a lot to do with our well-being, we'll also bring a lot about your relationships into our work together. (Interpersonal process). However, I also believe that therapy is never one-size-fits-all, and I work hard to provide what is best for each individual client.
